An aerial view of the city of Paris with sections left blank at right and center

Set in a vertical oval shape surrounded by a rectangle at the center of the page, this city scene is etched in fine dark brown lines on pale green paper. Seen from above and at an angle, the rooftops and facades of city buildings crowd the view at left and center, and recede into the distance at left. In the foreground at lower left, four dark birds dart in front of us in mid-air, while in the distance others wheel high above the city against a cloudy sky. A large area occupying most of the right side is left blank, as is a tall rectangular space at center.
