M12110: The Wine Glass
PrintsIn this piece, the printed plate is fairly centered on the paper and at a slight diagonal tilting to the right. The image area shows an empty wine glass sitting on a coaster, possible a metal one, with crimped edges and small feet. The glass itself has a circular base, skinny stem, and wide cup. There is a bright point of shine in the top right of the glass, and a reflection of the base and part of the stem is visible in the coaster. Definition of the object is created through dense, black hatching and cross-hatching behind the image.
