M21136: Galeriae Farnesianae: Polyphemus and Galatea
PrintsThere is a high rectangular frame, covered slightly by a smaller frame at its middle, which sits on top of a vertical frame, behind which the curves of two smaller frames seem to peek out at the bottom. Within the frames nude figures, sometimes with hooved and furred legs or with wings, sit and lounge, sometimes reaching out of their frames or playing instruments. On either side of the frames there are nude figures who stand or sit in various positions. There are two winged figures at the outskirts of the sides of the scene.
