Frederick Keppel. The print was found with a number of Twachtman trial proofs, which seemingly descended through the Keppel firm, New York print dealers in the late 19th and early 20th c, founded by Frederick Keppel, who was succeeded by his son David Keppel. The seller was John Keppel, the son of David Keppel, who had come into possession of these proofs by inheritance.
John Keppel, sale to HUAM, 1995. See remarks for Frederick Keppel.
