M12843: Dr. Gachet
PrintsThe man sits outside with the suggestion of a fence and garden behind him. He has thick wavy hair with a receding hairline, moustache and slight goatee, closed mouth as his hand holds the pipe, probably resting on his elbow outside the frame. His pensive eyes look past us, his eyebrows are slightly raised, with wrinkled forehead, may suggest slight weariness. He’s drawn close by, as if in conversation with us. Lines and textures form the shape of the face and jacket.
