Two young, light skinned men sit across from each other at a narrow wooden table, each holding a hand of playing cards. At left, a man in a wide brimmed hat and a billowy shirt unbuttoned to his chest, holds up his cards in one hand and smiles at his opponent. At right, his opponent looks back at him with a furrowed brow, holding his own cards up with both hands. A third man leans in, one hand on the table, one hand on the shoulder of the man at left, as he stares intently past the candle at the cards on the table.
