Descriptions Commentary Ringgold as since gone on to fame as a printer/quiltmaker, emphasizing her feminist concerns has strongly as her concerns for racial justice. This poster is perhaps among the last of her more polemical works, which characterized her art in the 1960s and early 1970s. It is one of the most important documents of social protest made by an artist in the early1970s; its plebian technique and large edition are a part of its message as well as a means for its dissemination.
