The man in the foreground on the left is seated leaning against a wall. Two men stand slightly behind him on the right, one is leaning forward, the other is in profile. A group of several men stand on the left in the background. The beamed structure in the top of the background has a wavy blurred look, beneath is another structure of crossed beams. The painting is done in shades of gray highlighted with black.
