Descriptions Commentary Kara Walker has gained attention for her distinct approach to racial stereotypes formed in the American South during the antebellum period. Her use of humor in manipulating grotesque caricatures is evident in her paper silhouette installations and transfers well into the medium of etching. This print is an excellent example of fine contemporary workmanship.
