With legs tucked beneath him, he clasps his hands on his left thigh proper and directs his distant gaze leftward. His face is marked by a wrinkled forehead, a prominent nose, and a feathery, pointed beard. The figure is rendered in flowing lines that swell and taper, in contrast to the pale washes used for the rocky outcroppings.
