Descriptions

Description
This drawing, a fragment of a larger composition, depicts a large military or royal procession with various figures facing different directions. The artist has taken great care in expressing each figure’s individuality through their facial features, facial hair, turbans, and dress. Some figures are on horseback while the majority are afoot. On the top right, two figures hold what appears to be the poles of a palanquin, but this component of the drawing is missing. The figures also carry a different types of weapons, including bows and quivers, swords, and spears. Rajput Style.
