Descriptions

Description
The painting depicts a palatial scene. The center depicts a woman of royalty, seated cross-legged under an awning. Her status indicated by the female attendant holding a peacock fan over her head. She faces a pair of musicians. At the bottom of the painting is a group of kings leading a chariot that contains Rama, the seventh avatar of the Hindu god Vishnu; his consort, Sita; and the monkey-god Hanuman. Rama, Sita, and Hanuman are primary figures in the Hindu epic, the Ramayana. Rajput Style, Mewar School.
