Descriptions

Description
Warp: 2 Z spun S plied undyed ivory and brown wool, sometimes plied together, sometimes alternating, on one level. Weft: 1 Z spun yarn; 2-4 yarns per shot; some eccentric wefting to prevent creasing. Pile: 2 Z spun S plied. Pile color: light red, dark red, yellow, green, blue (heavily abrashed), purple, undyed ivory, corrosive black/brown. Knots: symmetrical. Knots per vertical decimeter: 30-33. Knots per horizontal decimeter: 30. Knots per square decimeter: 900-990. Both selvedges: flat, red wefts over 4 bundles of 2 warps each. Top: approx. 3 cm. tapestry weave, stripped. Bottom: 1 1/2 cm. tapestry weave, stripped.
