Descriptions Description Gordes Prayer carpet with elmaleh borders, carnation borders, panel above mihrab, abrashed indigo field with carnations. Warps: 2 Z spun S plied undyed white wool, undyed brown wool; alternate warps slightly depressed. Wefts: 1 Z spun wool yarn, dyed buff, dyed red, undyed dark and light brown; 2 yarns per shot; lazy lines. Pile: 2 Z spun S plied. Pile colors: light blue, dark blue, medium blue, grey-green (probably indigo sulfonic), red (abrashed from dark purple to light brick), yellow (washed-out), orangy-yellow, white/ivory, dark and light tan, brown. Knots: symmetrical; 46 knots per vertical decimeter; 35 knots per horizontal decimeter, 1610 knots per square decimeter. Both selvedges cut and rebound. Both ends: 1 cm blue tapestry weave, stripped.
