This tall, narrow hanging scroll is a painting of a rocky mountain. The mountain’s peak is on the left side of the image. The rock appears to have a sheet-like texture, as if it has many vertical layers. The mountain’s details are finely shaded, but some areas at the base of the mountain are left lighter, creating the appearance of fog or mist. A wide path winds around the right side of the mountain and in the foreground. Figures carrying long staves walk on the path facing left. Trees grow on the path’s perimeter.
