Portrait of a seated young Japanese woman in a red kimono faces and looks to the right.

A woman's face is in profile as we look over her right shoulder from slightly above. She’s fair skinned with pink parted lips and thick black hair arranged on her head with small combs. We see tips of her left fingers in the back as she adjusts her hair. The kimono has a decorative white dot pattern on its red collar, and a black and white sash across her waist. The background is neutral tan color with similar colored swirls all around. Calligraphy and dark red artist seals are stamped in the upper left.
