Mottled green and buff jade. The blade has a median crest which extends to the very sharp point. The edges are neatly beveled. The crest extends toward the butt of the tang, which shows four sharp, angular serrations, each of them marked by a shallow incision. Two holes of approximately the same size are drilled from the left side along the median, one between the shoulders and the other in the center of the tang. Shang or early Western Chou.
