Originally celadon-colored jade, now largely calcified; coated with patches of cinnabar. The flat plaque, identically incised on both sides, represents an animal with only two feet, mushroom-shaped horns, fanged mouth and big tail. Perforations at the mouth and tail. Late Shang or Western Chou.
