Catalogue entry no. 297 by Max Loehr:
297 Fragmentary Silhouette of a Fish(?)
Translucent, warm pale green and bone-colored jade with a peculiar, possibly modern and accidental, red stain on one side. This piece, fractured and therefore slightly disfigured where the head was pierced by a small suspension hole, now seems to resemble a bird. Its proportions are unusual and unrevealing. Early Western Chou.
