484 Huang, Segment with Plastic Curls
This translucent, milky white jade with brown markings is shaped as a narrow segment which spans an arc of about 125 degrees. Both sides are decorated with a pattern of plastic curls, bounded by plain margins. The arrangement of the curls follows the curve of the segment and thus is more or less concentric rather than grid-like. The ends and adjoining edges are unobtrusively crenelated. All surfaces show a glossy finish. At one end and at the apex there are small, cylindrical perforations. Late Eastern Chou.
