34 Heavy Dagger-Axe with Grooved Tang
Strongly calcified, ivory-colored jade; traces of cinnabar and earth. Impressions from a fabric are visible on both sides. The surfaces are very smooth. The crested, softly beveled blade is set off from the tang by short shoulders. The tang, which has a small perforation in the center, is decorated with five paired ridges. The ridges project at the butt and sett off the concave edges of the bands between them. Shang.
