617 Brush Holder and Cover
Light gray-green, partly discolored jade cylinders, both of which are almost completely hollowed out. The more slender brush holder tapers slightly at the open end, which fits tightly into the cover. On the thus protected ends no discoloration has occurred. The brush itself is lost. The age of this piece is hard to determine, but the degree of calcification suggest that it has lain in the ground for some time, perhaps as long as several centuries.
