Catalogue entry no. 624 by Max Loehr:
624 Miniature Ting Tripod
Opaque, mottled light green and dark brown jade, shaped as a very small ting with straight legs and two upright loop handles on the rim. The ornament consists of a low relief frieze in three sections, each of which is occupied by a t’ao-t’ieh mask. The masks are fairly closely modeled on late Shang or early Western Chou prototypes. The orifices of the loops are angular. Date uncertain.
Although the shape and ornamentation are not obviously for an archaizing character, the small size of the object suggest that it was an archaeological toy rather than an ancient miniature vessel made for burial purposes.
