Catalogue entry no. 462 by Max Loehr:
462 Belt Hook
Bone-colored opaque jade with small areas of pale green at the back. Under the hook, the stone has begun to disintegrate. The sturdy convex body expands to a shield form framed by a hollow, beveled border with three rectangular notches. The shield is covered with raised spirals, while the border is finely incised with disconnected S -curves flanked by small cross-hatched field. The stem tapers off toward the hook, which is shaped as a feline head, with ears in shallow relief and a pair of horns(?) in high relief. A simplified mask adjoining the shield at the widest part of the stem faces the feline head above it. On the back is a heavy stud. Late Eastern Chou.
