Catalogue entry no. 483b by Max Loehr:
483 Pair of Segments with Plastic Curls
The strongly calcified, originally gray-green pieces appear to have been refashioned from a broken disk, part of which was, in consequence, lost. Proof of such recutting is afforded (1) by the pattern of the curls, set in straight rows, that run across the ends, and (2) by the crenelation of the contours produced at the expense of the outer and inner margins. Both pieces are perforated at the apex only. Late Eastern Chou. - Acquisition and Rights
