Flat plaque of calcified and discolored jade, originally olive-green in color. The rabbit’s big ears reach the length of his body; his eyes are defined by circles in slight relief. The position of the fore and hind legs is sufficiently differentiated to convey a sense of tension and motion. Biconical drill-hole at the neck. Shang or Western Chou.
