Catalogue entry no. 551a by Max Loehr:
551 Pair of Statuettes of Bearded Old Men
Greenish gray and black stone figures, rounded in front and flat at the back. The men are distinguished by flat caps with elevations at the back and by their long gowns with exceedingly long sleeves. Their features are marked by short grooves for eyes and mouth. Their bears are pointed and, together with the heads, they form stark, geometric wedge-shapes. The fold and outlines of the sleeves are incised. Semicircular incisions at the bottom indicate shoes. Their proportions, different from those of Shang and Chou figurines, make these men seem quite tall. There are no perforations. Possibly Han.
