On the side of the coin on the left is the bust of a man facing left, with a long straight beard, short cropped hair, wearing a pearl headband, clothing draped over shoulder; surrounding the border, the Latin characters: F L C L / I V L I A / N V S / P F / A V G. The other side of the coin depicts a bearded man standing facing left, wearing flowing robes, a crown, holding an ornate staff in left hand, a small cloth in his right; surrounding the border, the Latin characters: V I R T V S / E X E R C I / T V S / R O M A N O R V M / A N T / B.
