On the side of the coin on the left is the bust of a bearded man facing right, short tendrils of curly hair held in place with a laurel wreath, loose clothing draped over shoulders; surrounding the border, small dots and the Latin characters: I M P / C / M / O P E L / S E V / M A C R I N V S / A V G. The other side of the coin depicts a woman standing facing left, draped in loose fitting clothing, right arm extended holding a vertical staff, left arm resting on a small column; surrounding the border, small dots and the Latin characters: P O N T I F / M A X / T R / P / C O S / P P.
