Both sides of an irregularly shaped silver-gray coin with relief decoration on each side. 

On the side of the coin on the left is a woman's head facing right, hair tied up crowned with reeds, wearing a three pendant earing and pearl necklace. The other side of the coin depicts a naked man advancing to the right, wearing a crested helmet, holding a short sword in right hand, a large shield in his left, held out in front of him. The inside of the shield is decorated with an animal consisting of the body of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. Below, a spear. Greek characters surround the left border.

Obverse: Head of Persephone to l., adapted from the Arethusa type of Euainetos in Syracuse, crowned with reeds, wearing triple-drop earrings and pearled necklace.
Reversal Ajax beardless, naked, advancing to l. wearing Corinthian helmet, holding short sword in r. hand and shield decorated on the inside with a griffin; above ground line spear.
