Descriptions Description Miniature rectangular ceramic pillow with angled top and stylized floral decoration created by applying thin medallions of marbled white and dark brown clays on the top surface; iron-brown slip painted between medallions to create a dark brown ground; pinkish buff earthenware with marbled veneer under lead-fluxed amber colored glaze. Commentary Compare to: (1) Ceramic pillow of very similar size, form, and marbled decoration attributed to the Tang dynasty excavated in 2006 from a canal site at Xiguan, Suzhou, Anhui province, now in the Anhui Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.
