2000.113: Study for Urban Plan
DrawingsGraphite drawing depicting an aerial view of a New York City block. Multiple buildings stand within the block, though the exact number is hard to determine. Apart from the buildings which are stark white, much of the remaining drawing is dark and undefined, possibly portraying the shells of unfinished buildings or unpopulated streets. Squares and rectangles dominate the piece as the grid-like nature of the block and sharp angled construction of the buildings are the most obvious and distinct characteristics of the drawing.
