Descriptions Description Small jar with bulbous body, lower portion tapering inward to a small, flat base, and with single strap handle; light gray earthenware with applique handle and applique and impressed decoration forming vertical ribs on the body. Majiayao culture, Banshan type. From the upper Yellow River valley region; southern Ningxia province. Commentary Compare to: (1) Small red earthenware jar of closely related form excavated from a Banshan cemetery in Dibaping, Guanghe county, Gansu province.
