Descriptions Description Deep bowl with straight sides and lower portion tapering inward to small flat base; buff earthenware with geometric decoration painted in black slip and white pigment. Majiayao culture, Majiayao type. From the upper Yellow River valley region; Gansu, Qinghai, or Ningxia province. Commentary Compare to: (1) Bowl with similar bichrome painted designs excavated in 1978 from a Majiayao site in upper Sunjia, Datong county, Qinghai province, now in the collection of the Qinghai Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeology Team.
