Obverse: Kneeling nude female figure ("Archeology") holding up a lamp in her proper right hand and a pick axe in her left; she kneels amidst various accoutrements of archeology such as a shovel, a helmeted head, a basket; "ARCHEO/LOGIE" in relief capitals in upper left
Reverse: Blank except for the heads of a pharoah and a warrior plus a capital at the bottom; Vernier's insignia in lower left (EV)
