2005.277: La Marchande de Moutarde
PrintsA young girl stands with her back against the left side of a tall doorway. Her hair is pulled back with a headband, and she wears a dress with flared sleeves. The doorway opens into a small, dark kitchen with a sloped ceiling, where a stoop-shouldered woman in a white bonnet bends over a low counter on the left side. A large container sits on the counter. A shelf to the woman’s right holds another large container. Above the counter is a row of cabinets with a shelf on top. A cauldron, a towel, and several jars rest atop the shelf.
