Descriptions

Description
The pigment is Egyptian Blue. It was applied to a mud plaster which had first been given a white priming coat of impure lime whitewash, consisting of unburned lime chalk.
Commentary
The pigment was examined by R.J. Gettens and by Dr. Daniel Norman, New England Spectro-chemical Laboratories.
