BRGA.87.4: Project for Black Mountain College, Lake Eden, North Carolina: Perspective, college seen across the valley
DrawingsA rendering of a modern building complex has been collaged onto a black and white photograph of a hilly tree lined landscape, as if the buildings sit at the shore of a lake. Viewed from across the lake, we see four low, long rectangular buildings in a slightly irregular line, rendered in pencil, with shadows in black ink and highlighted with touches of white paint. In places, reflections on the lake are indicated with touches of white, painted directly on the photograph, serving to seamlessly blend the collage with the photo. In the distance, beyond the trees, mountains are lightly rendered in graphite.
