A drawing of a woman standing for a portrait in a dress and shawl.

The drawing in graphite on white paper depicts a woman standing in three quarters facing left, cropped beneath the hips, her gaze directed to the viewer. She wears a high waisted dress with suggestions of stripes, with a patterned shawl draped over her shoulders. She touches the shawl with her right hand, a ring visible on her middle finger. She has densely curled hair just visible beneath an ornately frilled bonnet. The artist’s signature and date are visible at bottom left of the page.
